Cathedral’s Safety Team helps watch over our church family when we gather.

Purpose

What is the purpose of the CBC Safety Team?

The CBC Safety Team exists to safeguard the well-being of our church family by fostering a safe environment that reflects our ministry’s values and mission.

Through careful planning, proactive risk management, and shared oversight, the team is committed to ensuring that members, guests, and staff can worship, serve, and fellowship in peace and safety.

Responsibilities

What are the responsibilities of the CBC Safety Team?

To fulfill this purpose, the Safety Team provides leadership and guidance at CBC by putting in place preventive safety measures and emergency response procedures.

Medical

Medical emergencies

Ready help when someone in our church family needs care during a service or event.

Care

Help during a gathering

A calm response when someone is in distress, or when help is needed during a service or event.

Evacuation

Building evacuation

Clear procedures for fire, gas leak, weapons, or a bomb threat, so people can leave safely.

The team maintains readiness during services and church events and also helps staff and ministry volunteers in emergency response.

Vision

What is the vision of the Safety Team?

Our vision is to build a culture of safety and preparedness at CBC that aligns with our mission to glorify God, nurture community, and spread the Gospel.

  1. Risk assessmentsConducting comprehensive risk assessments that identify vulnerabilities specific to our ministry setting.
  2. Stronger practicesStrengthening existing safety practices so they keep pace with the needs of our church family.
  3. Strategic plansDeveloping strategic plans that address identified risks and align resources with our safety goals.
  4. Clear proceduresImplementing clear policies and procedures so the safety team operates consistently and effectively.
  5. Qualified leadersAppointing qualified leaders to oversee daily implementation of safety protocols and maintain ongoing communication with church leadership.
  6. Open communicationFacilitating open communication among the Safety Team, leadership, and the congregation so evolving concerns are addressed and accountability is maintained.

Through these efforts, the CBC Safety Team seeks to practice stewardship, diligence, and faith so that our church remains a sanctuary for worship and spiritual growth.
